Botkin Chiarello Calaf is pleased to announce the addition of Colombina Valera to our growing commercial litigation and intellectual property litigation practice groups.

A 2022 graduate of the University of Texas School of Law, Colombina recently completed a two-year term clerkship for U.S. Magistrate Judge Dustin M. Howell of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas.

“Colombina shares our firm’s values and commitment to zealous advocacy,” said name partner María Amelia Calaf. “We’re excited to have this promising young lawyer on our team.”

At UT Law, Colombina was a staff editor of the Texas Hispanic Journal of Law and Policy and was active in the Women’s Law Caucus and the Chicano/Hispanic Law Students Association. In addition, she participated in the Civil Rights Clinic, where she worked directly with community members on matters including criminal justice and tenants’ rights.

Colombina earned her undergraduate degree in art history from Amherst College in 2010 and master’s degree from Hunter College in 2015.

A native Austinite, Colombina spends her free time at art museums, traveling with family and tackling DIY house projects.
