The Hispanic National Bar Association has re-appointed Botkin Chiarello Calaf partner María Amelia Calaf (MAC) to its Latina Commission in recognition of her dedication to opening doors for Latina lawyers.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue serving as a commissioner,” said MAC. “As the premiere national organization advancing Latinos in the legal profession, the commission is well positioned to continue to create opportunities to elevate Latinas and build the pipeline for future Latina leaders.”

The Latina Commission of the HNBA is charged with offering professional development and leadership training programs to help advance the careers of Latina attorneys, who account for less than 2% of all lawyers in the United States.

MAC is an accomplished commercial litigator with significant wins at the trial and appellate level. In addition to her work with the Commission, MAC helped found an Austin “Cafecito,” an informal networking group for Latina lawyers.
