Katherine Chiarello, Jennifer Colimon to Speak at Austin Bar Association CLE Event
Botkin Chiarello Calaf partners Katherine Chiarello and Jennifer Colimon will speak on January 27 at the Austin Bar Association’s Civil Litigation CLE. The event is 12-1 p.m. at McGinnis Lochridge, 1111 W. 6th Street, Suite 400.
The panel discussion, Litigators Going In-House: Transitioning from the Court Room to the Boardroom, will address moving from private practice to in-house counsel, the practical differences between the roles, and the skills attorneys develop in litigation that help them succeed in-house.
In 2022, Jennifer served as interim General Counsel of SunPower Corporation, a publicly traded, leading solar technology and energy services provider in North America. From 2014 to 2020, she managed SunPower’s global commercial litigation docket and was employment counsel. This significant in-house experience gives her real insight into her clients’ perspectives and a unique ability to help meet their business objectives through legal strategies. Jennifer was named by Austin Monthly magazine as one of Austin’s Top Attorneys in 2024.
Katherine, a skilled and experienced trial and appellate lawyer, was named the 2023 Litigation/Appellate Attorney of the Year by the Travis County Women Lawyers Association. She has also been honored by Texas Super Lawyers, Best Lawyers in America, and Austin Monthly magazine’s list of Austin’s Top Attorneys. Trinity University’s alumni publication recently profiled Katherine for her work in a landmark First Amendment case.
Katherine will moderate the discussion, and Jennifer will be joined on the panel by David Lein, Interim Associate Vice Chancellor & Deputy General Counsel at the University of Texas System, and Stephen Stout, General Counsel, Corporate Secretary, and Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer at Shattuck Labs.
